The Drive...

Is my, "Detour" where the open space dehumanizes a lonely man taking a car across America. Everyone he encounters befalls some tragic event. He comes to believe he is Death.

I Found a Reason...

Started off as a video for the beautiful Marja E. Tensen, but my fascination with "The Great Depression" and "The Dust Bowl" and a scene in the film, "A Boy and His Dog" where people gather to watch the real, "Last Picture Show" as a scratchy, broken, old porn film plays projected on a stained, torn sheet, led to thoughts about a film where one believes it's an artifact from the 20's, but the twist at the end reveals something more frightening.

Desecrate

This was inspired by an idea from my friend, Aaron and his time spent in Thailand. There was a lot of footage shot there and interiors here.

Nightmare Flashback!

This may look like cheating, but I did this trailer a while back as a proposal for a Ghost Hunting TV series I wanted to do.

I have a fairly large collection of haunted house video I've shot and there's some cool stuff in it all. I was just at lunch in a old house that's now a cafe and the young daughter of the owner told me some great stories about it's ghost activity. One bit that she shared with me was the night they served a man with an Autistic child who started acting crazy. The father asked the waitress if there was any known paranormal events that may have taken place there?

She said she didn't know, but later she found out from the owners just how haunted the old place is.

Seemed the little kid was like some sort of Ghost Whisperer, but with lots of squeals and grunts instead of whispers.

I'm going to shoot there! I have a great wraparound idea to finish the edit.

I know there's no "real" title on this trailer, but imagine it's like the early trailers of "Cloverfield" when they didn't have the title on it.

But I believe I'm going to call it, "The Veil" let me know what you think of that!

How sick can I get?

I've been brought down by a really bad Flu going around. Are there any good ones? I may not have shot one film a day, but I did have enough footage and I wrote for this page, just didn't post until I had a trailer. I'm getting far behind, but dammit, I will make One Film a Day! I may have to make 2 or 3 films in ONE DAY to catch up.

And so, without further ado, the post I wrote that day of the 7th:

Robert Altman used weed. Paul Thomas Anderson joked that he may use amphetamines. Pier Paolo Pasolini used young smooth hairless boys.

I use NyQuil Cherry Flavored.

Not the Original Flavor, because I heard nearly all Gay Men use the Original Flavor and not Cherry when they're stopped up. I don't know if it was really a poll, but I hate Menthol unless it's in an inhaler that I'm sucking on after dropping some Ecstasy.

Trust NyQuil® night time medication for relief from your cold, flu, and cough symptoms that keep you up at night. Get the sleep you need with NyQuil—the nighttime, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, fever, best movie you ever made with a cold… medicine.

I LOVE Doxylamine Succinate! (antihistamine/hypnotic)

Maybe I should get in on THIS!

Anyway, I'm sick and I have to thank a young actress (who wants to be nameless until she see the results of her performance, she says) in my Workshop The Springfield Acting MeetUp Group for coming up with this horrible idea of a circle of friends who discover their best friend has been abducted. There's a real sick twist at the end that no one in the group was prepared for... And that is one of the great things about the workshop, the surprises we encounter while we are creating!

Here's the trailer for the film, "URL"

The Tornado Man

This is what I'm talking about!

Okay, one of the good things about the "1 Film A Day" lifestyle, is that I can make a film when some natural event is taking place. Check it out.

I was in THIS!

Risking my life for Art!

Where I'm staying flooded, roads destroyed, trees ripped from the ground, cars totaled, and power out!

In the heat!

This was a pretty dramatic day!

I feel I'm running out of steam and ideas already.

When all else fails, resort to a "revenge thriller!"

This was a fairly easy shoot. Other than the freezing winds. The downtown area has such a great look and everyone looks better in movies with coats.

I'm so worn out!

Can I really keep this up for a whole year?

I'm already falling behind!

Man, it's friggin' cold here and the camera is malfunctioning!

The eyepiece keeps fogging up with frost.

Been trying to shoot outside, but the wind is murder. None of the actors are too motivated to stand in the breeze. Me neither!

It's day 3! What am I to do? Can I ready catch up? Will I be able to shoot 2 movies in one day to make up the difference?

Can't get too far behind, but it like Ice Planet Hoth here just look:

Hard at work...

...on my new film, but I thought I'd show you the trailer for Yesterday's work.

What a rough day!

Dizzy from beginning my Fast and unable to focus on what film to make. It was freezing cold, so no one was on the streets walking that I could grab into my film, plus it was the 1st day of the New Year and lots of things were closed.

Maybe I didn't try hard enough.

That in mind, I went low low and aimed at what was available and think I made something nice and sweet.

My brother Stan pulled out an unorganized box of family photos and I thought maybe I could do something with these? So here is Day #1's 1st Film available soon on DVD from Amazon.com

You know how sometimes on a 1st date someone pulls out the family album? Well, that makes this a good date movie!

Hey, I'm doing the best I can here!

The camera is like...

...a Blank White Page.

What will I fill that frame with?

I could barely sleep thinking how utterly impossible this task will be, how stupid and silly, but really it might be good for me in some way.

Grabbed my gear this morning to get use to the weight of hauling it all around with me.

It's so heavy!

My backpack is fat with the PowerBook, Canon, Sony, composition book, release forms and Advil, but how can that stuff be so heavy?

I can't believe I'm doing this and starting my New Fast at the same time. At the end of my 30Day Fasts, I can barely lift my head, How will I be able to lift my fat backpack?

Sunday, December 30, 2007

Oh brother, What am I doing?

I must be insane! How tired and drained will I be at the end of 2008? How drained will I be at the end of the day?

Will I lose all my friends?

Will I make any friends?

Will my films be any good?

Will I have anything to say?

Well, I still have some time to back out before the 1st. NO! I can't I must do this! This is my challenge to myself.

At the start of each day, I will have my Sony DCR-VX2000, my Canon PowerShot SD550 Digital Elph, my cellphone, and my faith that I will be able to edit in camera as much as possible, find enough interesting people to perform for me, have enough readers of this page to leave encouraging comments filled with ideas for the next days work and hopefully not kill myself.
